Established in 2009, the Pen Imprinting project was undertaken to improve fall returns of Chinook Salmon to Port Dalhousie. Annually 50,000 fry are nurtured in pens for one month, during which they imprint on the local waters to draw them back during the spawning period. Our success is totally dependent on volunteers who benefit from the knowledge gained of their fishery.
